This does suspiciously look like a Tamyia kit.
Way to whip this bad boy into shape Smiley

Thanks again gents!  Grin Got the whip out and the tailplane is a lot better, doesn't quite show in the pics but trust me, it is! Given her a coat of Humbrol #1 primer as well.

From the way it looks now, I wouldn't ever imagine it gave you the fits.... (pun intended!)  Wink

What camo are you planning to finish it?

Camo you say...

Revell aluminium enamel to replicate NMF, needs a bit of re-finishing here and there but what do you all think so far?

Say what you will about the ICM kits 'buildiness', they have some pretty fine detail.
Im thinkin there are some pretty danged good tool makers over there in Russian Land.

The detail and panel lines look very sharp and the overall shape looks spot on to me. Some of the best kits take a bit of work to get the best out of them. I think it looks great so far.

At last! What was supposed to be a nice straightforward build turned into a real trial with unexpectedly lousy fit but it's finally finished, a long way from perfect but DONE!    Cheesy
Rather than using the kits rather ordinary scheme I used Aeromaster's 'Southern European Mustangs Pt.1' sheet to depict 'Shovelnose and Handlebar', which was painted to commemerate the visit of Bob Hope and Gerry Colonna to Furth airfield in Germany on a USO tour in early 1945. Would have been a shame to put a nasty exhaust stain all over such lovely artwork so I've set the scene just after painting with a couple of crew members admiring it.

Completely OOB, brush painted using a mixed bag of Humbrol and Revell enamels, NMF was done with Revell aluminium and I must say  I'm quite chuffed with how it came out. Weathering was done with Promodeller washes, very light and mostly confined to control surface gaps and wheel wells, exhaust stains (again light) were done with pastel chalks. Figures came with the kit, Jeep is by Tamiya.
Thanks to everyone once again for keeping up my motivation on this one, really appreciate it.  Smiley

It looks like you took care of any fit problems. The Mustang looks good in thoses markings. You might have inspired all thoses with an ICM kit lurking in the stash to pull them out and start building.

Thanks mate, I think the root of ther problem was not enough test fitting.  Embarrassed The cockpit module seems slightly askew and when I put the wings on the wheel wells (seperately boxed) seem have knocked everything out of whack. A solution would be to give the top of the wheel wells and the bottom of the cockpit a good sanding so there's no chance of them coming into contact, I was too far down the line once I'd figured that out.  Roll Eyes
