Wings were horrible on this kit. Mating surfaces were anything but true.

and just when I thought the bad was behind me....

...

you guessed it, I snapped the tail wheel off. Repair underway with the smallest wire I had. May not be small enough.

Ya know, I'm starting to think I should have listened to Dave the Chef and his Wildcat theory. Started masking the canopy last night and I'll be danged if the main canopy didn't crack right in half. Imagine that  Roll Eyes
Ordered an aftermarket canopy today and as soon as it gets here and I get it painted I’m calling this one done before I hurt myself  Cheesy

They only one I could find is for the Monogram kit. I have my fingers crossed that I can make it work. Otherwise I'll use the kit canopy, crack and all.

This is the one I ordered:

What a sharp looking Wildcat. Great job on the paint. A lil weathering and she will be ready to fly.

Thanks! Looks ok I guess as long as I enforce the 10' rule and keep the pics slightly blurry  Roll Eyes

I am pleased with the paint demarcation on the fuselage. First attempt at a freehand line like that with a double action brush. Used Vallejo Model Air straight from the bottle with no splatters or graininess. Gave myself a thumbs up  Wink

Between 18 and 20 psi I figure. Hard to tell exactly on my regulator. I used my new Grex Genesis XG which is a beautiful handling airbrush. Smaller than most of the Grex and Iwata double actions so its easier for me to handle. It's about the same size as my Badger 200G.
